Eagle Watch Golf Club
Situated amid a beautiful natural setting in the scenic foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, just north of Atlanta in Woodstock, Georgia, the course at Eagle Watch has the kind of character and power one would expect from its designer, Arnold Palmer. With fairways surrounded by wooded hills, ponds and creeks add challenge and interest to the layout, this club will almost certainly bring out the best golf in every player.

The Arnold Palmer-designed course was built in August of 1989 and it has consistently ranked among the top places to play in Atlanta by golfing publications. Eagle Watch is a traditional-style course with a number of dramatic elevation changes and water features that protect 10 of the 18 holes. Eagle Watch’s signature hole is the very picturesque No. 14, where the drama is all about the lake that protects the front and right side of a sloping, two-tiered green.
Eagle Watch is open seven days a week. Walking is permitted after 2:00 PM on weekends/holidays.

Marc Reinecke, 5/9/2012 8:26:12 AM EST Been playing this course for 15 years-member for 5. Course in the best shape EVER-Fairways plush, greens firm and putting true. With this weeks rain can only get better- Can't say enough good things about job Course Superintendent has done-
Hun Jae Lee, 4/10/2012 4:28:12 PM EST The course is great. The green coditoions are fantastic. However, there were unpleasant pro shop lady!
C. Glenn Tripp, 3/31/2012 4:27:19 AM EST Best shape ever, place is great
Sean Lalor, 11/5/2011 8:47:44 PM EST Good layout, fun course. Green in great shape, most of the course, except for the tee boxes were in good shape. VERY slow pace of play, took close to 5 hours to play as a two-some.
Larry Basel, Jr., 9/8/2011 2:41:53 PM EST Great improvements over the last 4 years. Greens are fast (no easy 3 footers anymore) but still receptive. Dont' get above any of the pins. Could still use some work on the practice area but the course is one of the best in North Georgia.
Ken, 8/10/2011 5:14:23 PM EST Played the course last week. WOW! Greens were very hard and fast. Fairways were in great condition. Great time.
Travis, 8/10/2011 3:37:30 PM EST This course is fantastic! Great challenges, great condition, great greens. There are some pin placements that can be sadistic, no matter haw good you can put!
Jake, 8/6/2011 9:30:12 PM EST Played this course last weekend and i LOVED IT. Great job to maintance
fan, 8/5/2011 1:20:26 PM EST played eagle watch a week ago. greens are 13 and hard as a rock. if ur not a good putter then you wont even come close to breaking 90.
Scratch man, 8/5/2011 7:55:46 AM EST Fast greens right now.. Better have feel or you'll get embarrassed
Rick Parker, 8/1/2011 3:46:34 PM EST I am very impressed with the improvements to Eagle Watch. Without question, it will soon be one of the nicest that Cannongate and GA have to offer.

Old Man River, 7/29/2011 8:33:59 PM EST Pace of play on weekends is a joke. Hope you have 5 hours to kill. I agree with the other poster regarding the pin positions. Holes are being put on slopes, places where the ball won't hold above or below the hole, etc, etc. Also...what happened to the pins being marked on the GPS??....don't get me wrong, the 3 sections pin sheets are awesome (I am being sarcastic), but with all flags the same color, we either need it marked on the GPS like it used to be, or make some better pin sheets. Time to get food at the turn is WAY TOO LONG, have almost had to let groups through on several occassions. When it is 12 noon, and the cart girl doesn't have sandwiches with her....that makes the issue even worse. This place needs someone who isn't just nice to the employees but knows how to manage people and make the place run smooth. If Robert wasn't there the place would be a total train wreck on weekends.
Anonymous, 7/27/2011 5:27:47 PM EST They do need more rakes at the traps. When the pin placement on 13 is in the lower left you can't keep a ball on the green. In fact if you are below the hole and put up to it and miss it will come all the way back down to past where you started. This isn't golf, this is miniature golf. This needs to be fixed or don't put the pin there. They are laying new sod now which will really help. They need to fill in the drain connection on number 3. I'm sure that having that open sore isn't part of the "Palmer Design". All that said it really is in good shape and a great course to play.
fred, 7/22/2011 12:18:18 PM EST Course is great! Best its been in 5 years

Anonymous, 7/18/2011 4:23:14 PM EST Pace of play after 8a is horrendous. Fairways are just now starting to fill in again. Traps have no rakes but then people don't seem to use the rakes when they are present. Greens are much improved but many are still bumpy. Whoever chooses the pin placements does not play golf, some are in ridiculous side hill locations. Course is over 20 years old yet there are places that lok as though they have never been cleaned up, no sod, rocks everywhere. Restaurant is dark and furniture is filthy. As far as the "golf experience" is concerned, it leaves a great deal to be desired.

Darren, 7/11/2011 10:54:12 PM EST 7/11/11 The course played great. Greens were perfect. Practice facility was "awful" Must play if you're a member. Much better than Towne Lake.
Glenn, 7/6/2011 6:59:52 AM EST 7-6-11 Greens have improved since recent aeration but not smooth. Tee boxes fair. Fairways really good. With recent rains, the fairways are in the really good shape. Practice facitly "pathetic" or worse.
Anonymous, 6/27/2011 11:18:41 PM EST Love the layout and the greens are great. Everything else is below average at best.
uuyyss554, 6/16/2011 6:00:25 PM EST These comments s/b dated since conditions often change.
Robert, 6/2/2011 2:14:11 PM EST Great greens and overall layout. Fairways, tee boxes, and bunkers are average at best. Cart paths need work. Stations at driving range are too close to one another. Progress is being made but the course is not close to it's potential.
Ryan Miller, 6/1/2011 12:51:57 PM EST The course is slowly getting there. Its in really good shape right now and the greens are only getting better. They've put in a ton of work and it's starting to pay off.
Jeffrey Bender, 5/30/2011 6:55:40 AM EST Tee boxes were in bad shape and areas around many bunkers were a real mess. Tip Dwarf Bermuda greens were in very good shape and very fast. It is a good layout with quite a few bowl shaped fairways to help keep your ball in play. Fairways were in fair shape with some very badly burned out and dry dirt sections.

Phil Barnet, 5/24/2011 4:03:50 PM EST Course is playing fast and hard. Greens are rolling great and will get faster. If you are looking for a regular game on Saturday and Sunday morning we have a group that is looking to add players. You can let the pro shop know and they will let you know how to get in touch with us.

Jack, 5/4/2011 11:59:54 AM EST The course is in great shape considering growing Bermuda in the transition zone is a hard task. For the guy commenting on the mowing the greens on weekends, Champion bermuda has a height of cut at 1/8 (.125) which creates a ball speed ranging from 10-13. The reason for not mowing both days is to a) save on money with labor and equipment wear and allows growth to occur. Zoysia grass on tees (you would be complaining about ball mark not filling in) would be such a slow growth.
Keith Meyer, 4/23/2011 7:14:44 PM EST The Course Superintendent needs to teach the workers how to fill in an old cup on the green with enough sand so the old cup is level with the green surrounding it. Also, need to cut the greens on both weekend days, the heaviest play days of the week and the only days when many members can play. In addition, need to look for a different grass on the tees that can survive the winter (perhaps Zoysia or some other type).
David, 4/16/2011 12:08:43 PM EST The new greens are fantastic. Nice layout and conditions are improving with the onset of growing season.

Chad Rothschild, 4/14/2011 12:04:30 PM EST The Arnold Palmer layout is fantastic. Usually the course is in great condition. When the greens are good, it is a fantastic track. The only thing keeping it from a 5 is sometimes the greens. My advice is make sure the greens are in good shape before you play it. If they are, then you will love it.
