Hamilton Mill
Hamilton Mill, located just northeast of Atlanta in Dacula, Georgia, was co-designed by two masterful golf course designers, Fred Couples and Gene Bates. With its panoramic views, playable Bermuda grass fairways, undulating bentgrass greens and impeccable, year-round conditioning, it's no wonder that Hamilton Mill is a favorite among Atlanta golfers. Members and guests alike will be delighted with this stunning, par-72 course, that although just minutes off Highway I-85, will feel miles away from the hustle and bustle of reality. This is a world-class course, well deserving of its frequent recognition as one of Atlanta’s Top 10 golf courses.

Richard Pedersen, 5/5/2013 4:24:10 PM EST A great course and facilities.
Jim Bayer, 4/16/2013 11:19:47 AM EST Greens are now perfect but a little slow. Fairways are nice and tee boxes are nice.
Eric Hall, 10/1/2012 2:22:07 PM EST Played early Sunday morning 7:46. The course was great but the person who checked us in could use a course in customer service. As I approached the counter he did not make eye contact with me or even look up from his monitor to acknowledge that a person was standing there in front of him. I said nothing, expecting that he would "deal" with me whenever he had the opportunity. After a good uncomfortable moment of silence he finally (without looking up) asked what he could do for me. At this point I realized he didn't want anything but the facts which I immediately gave him (Name, Member #, Tee time). He is still looking down at his monitor and clicking away. After doing some further clicking he asked "What was that member number?" (Really?!) I gave it to him again along with with my debit card. These were the only words spoken between us. He took my card and gave me my receipt to sign. There was not a "Thank You, "Sign this copy" nothing. Very rude! I didn't think too much of it at the time until I spoke with my guest on the first tee box. My guest had almost the exact same experience when he checked in. I don't know if this person was having a bad day already or just didn't have his coffee yet. But, he needs to know this is not the way to treat people, especially YOUR CUSTOMERS! The Starter, Marshals, and all of the other staff were friendly and respectful.
Wardell Gilbeaux, 8/16/2012 6:35:54 PM EST Played last Friday, with only my partner because our other two members had to cancel. We played 18 holes in 3 hours. We didn't rush but had a normal round, and was only slowed for a short time, from the 16th to the 18th holes. The course was in very good shape, except for the many ball marks on the greens, and members refusing to rake the sand traps. If we could get our members to take a little time to pay attention to these things, i.e. raking the traps after yourself, and repairing three or four ball marks once on the green, we could improve the course greatly. Started at 7:30 a.m. and finished at 10:30 am. It was a great day.
Michael Cosgrove, 8/12/2012 12:42:26 AM EST Tee to green fringe the course is in great condition. The greens are damaged due to lack of attention by the players!!! If every golfer repairs 5 ball marks the greens will heal. The round today started off in a positive manner as we waited on every shot after the 2nd hole but still completed 9 in 2 hours. The back nine got worse and it became a Canongate 4.5 hour round. GPS said we were behind in pace but the Marshall would drive by after speaking with the group in front and just say "how you doing". A couple of twosomes, a three someone and then our threesome and people can't play golf in less than 4 hours? Canongate needs to improve pace of play across it's entire network of courses. This can only be done through the members. Play ready golf, pick up after your max handicap score, tell the clubhouses to improve in service if many of you stop for food after 9 holes and remember most of us are poor players, just play fast for everyone. Started at 10:51AM today finished at 3:20PM, slow!!
Patrick Owens, 8/11/2012 8:49:56 PM EST Picturesque and very challenging course I'll be playing again soon.
Patrick Owens, 8/11/2012 8:49:23 PM EST Picturesque and very challenging course I'll be playing again soon.
Brian Nichols, 4/9/2012 9:17:23 AM EST Hard but fun, always in good shape.
Peter Stolle, 4/4/2012 11:49:52 PM EST Scenic, challenging course. GPS in golf carts a plus. Conditions not bad. Great pro shop staff and management.
If there are negatives in this club, it is that it has too many members using it. The club is over played even on weekdays. Yet Canongate is pushing to recruit even more members.
The course has poor drainage and CPO takes several days of walking to your ball.
All in all; I miss this course after playing in Florida.
Canongate Golf Clubs, 4/3/2012 11:16:18 AM EST The greens at Hamilton Mill were aerified on March 19 and have healed really well. Also, the greens at Hamilton Mill have done very well the past few summers relative to most courses in the Atlanta area. We are also continuing to be proactive with an aggressive fertilization and chemical program in preparation for another hot summer.
John McConnell, 3/23/2012 10:05:46 AM EST This course, like Windemere, gets too much play and way too little respect from the membership. The layout is great but they have never been able to get well rooted, consistent bent grass greens.
Matt Swilling, 12/28/2011 8:22:29 PM EST It's nice that the carts have GPS for yardage but there are not really any yardage markers in the fairway. Cart path only did not work well today.
Hyuk Ku Kwon, 12/22/2011 8:10:35 PM EST
David Hudson, 10/31/2011 9:05:57 AM EST Very nice, enjoyed playing with my 9 year old son.
Anonymous, 8/10/2011 12:17:36 AM EST Great course!
ReDrop, 8/5/2011 2:58:39 PM EST Please, please repair your ball mark and three others.
JoJo, 8/5/2011 12:40:11 PM EST Awesome course with wonderful activities. Kenny and Casey are the best!
Anonymous, 8/4/2011 7:25:25 PM EST This course is NOT near as good as it is supposed to be. I will admit.. that the tee boxes, fairways, and bunkers are in BEAUTIFUL condition. The greens are absolutely TERRIBLE. People dont repair ball marks, people scuff the green with their shoes, and I've seen people drive their golf carts ACROSS THE GREEN. Kenny, I hope you take this seriously, but something has to be done!!
Maintenance crews work their tails off and there are still people that DISRESPECT this beautiful course. It's unfortunate that people can't respect a golf course anymore..
Anonymous, 7/25/2011 1:54:08 AM EST Great course, fun to Play

James Cunningham, 6/9/2011 6:41:43 AM EST outstanding coures one of the best in the ATL.
Mike Sauter, 6/2/2011 9:33:01 AM EST This is the best Conongate course in North Atlanta
Peter Stolle, 5/30/2011 10:51:08 PM EST This course has lots of variety and rolling hills. It is also a challenging course versus run of the mill golf courses.

Darryn Ochoa, 5/15/2011 2:42:52 PM EST This course has a great layout and is a ton of fun. The staff is always awesome! I wish they'd invest some more time into keeping the greens up. The course gets a ton of play and there's some bad areas on the greens since people don't always fix their divots or fix them correctly. It's not horrible but it's really the only area of opportunity to make this course even better.
Jon Muyres, 5/9/2011 10:48:14 PM EST Awesome course

Anonymous, 5/2/2011 12:28:08 PM EST The entire staff at Hamilton Mill, starting with GM Kenny Weiss should be commended for such an excellent job they have been doing over the past couple of years. The greens and course has been in great shape and this is my favorite Canongate course.

Chad Rothschild, 4/14/2011 12:06:27 PM EST The course condition is usually really good. The greens are usually in good shape. The layout to me is just OK and the only reason it is not a 5.
